ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDITS (ABC)

On July 28, 2021, the University Grants Commission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, officially published "The University Grants Commission (Establishment and Operation of Academic Bank of Credits in Higher Education) Regulations, 2021" in the Gazette of India.

The establishment of the Academic Bank of Credits is based on the National Academic Depository (NAD). In other words, it is the backbone of ABC where academic awards and information of students are stored. We may call it a digital bank of academics or a storehouse of academics. The NAD platform serves as a system for ABC that allows students to register and create an ABC ID, which can be used to store, transfer, redeem, and receive recognition for academic credits.
