COUNSELING & PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING CENTRE


KBN College established Counselling and Psychological Wellbeing Centre with the primary objective of providing mental health and emotional support services to students and sometimes even staff members. This centre plays a crucial role in promoting the mental and emotional wellbeing of individuals within the college community.

The primary function of the centre is to offer counselling and therapy services to students. This may include individual counselling, group therapy, and sometimes family counselling. The goal is to help students address a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, academic challenges, and personal development.


Objectives:

  • Provide counselling and psychological support services to the students to help them cope with academic, personal, and emotional challenges.
  • Assist students in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and stress management techniques to enhance their academic performance.
  • Promote mental health awareness and resilience among students through workshops, campaigns, and educational programs.
  • Offer immediate support and intervention for students experiencing crises, such as severe emotional distress, academic failure, or interpersonal conflicts.
  • Provide strategies and resources to help students manage stress and anxiety related to academic and personal pressures.
  • Offer counselling and education to prevent and address substance abuse issues among college students.
  • Support new students in adjusting to the college environment and help them overcome homesickness or social challenges.
  • Organize workshops and seminars on topics like mindfulness, self-care, and healthy relationships to promote overall wellbeing.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality to create a safe and trusting space for students to seek help.
  • Connect students with external mental health professionals or resources when needed for specialized care.
