The department of Hindi was started in June 1965. It was developed under the able principal ship of the late Sri S.Sundaram,the founder principal.Dr.B.Lakshmaiah Setty,was the founder Head,department of Hindi.Later on Sri Mallikarjuna Rao,Dr.C.Chennakesavulu,Smt P.Sarada,Sri.P.Devarajkumar succeeded the headship and contributed their mite for academic growth of the department as well as the institution.

Vision

• The department envisions implementation of Hindi as an official language and promote Hindi language and Literature in the Non Hindi speaking area.

Mission

• The mission of the department is to train the student to become a competent speaker in Hindi.
• to acquiant the student with the developments of Modern Hindi language.
• to introduce the student to the various geners of Hindi literature.
• to empower the student as to become a good translator.
• to teach Hindi comprehensively in accordance with the three language formula.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

• to preserve and promote India’s linguistic interests related to Hindi language globally and to instill human values inherent in its literature.
• to foster friendship and understanding between and across Hindi and Non-Hindi speaking people through the learning and teaching of Hindi.
• to bring together Hindi speaking diasporas by organizing Seminars,Guest lectures,Hindi Divas,etc.

Extension Activities

• The Department is constantly engaged in helping interested students appearing for DBHPS examinations.
• The faculty members are invited for radio talks by All India Radio(AIR),VIJAYAWADA
• Our Students had the privilege to participate in All India Radio, VIJAYAWADA -Ranga Rang a 45min. program
